Terms, Conditions of Use and Legal Notice of the Website for the International Summit on Child Protection

Welcome to the website of the International Summit on Child Protection (hereinafter "the Summit"), which is designed to make it easier for you (hereinafter the "User") to gain access to the most comprehensive information on the page.

The General Conditions, Disclaimer, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (hereinafter "General Terms of Use") govern the use of website / (the "Website") that the Host Committee have made available to you as a User.

Browsing the Website entails that the person is a User and it implies full and unreserved acceptance of each and every one of the provisions in these General Terms of Use, therefore, if the User does not agree with any of the conditions set forth herein, he / she shall not use the Website.

The Host Committee reserve its right to modify these General Terms of Use and any other general or specific conditions, regulations, instructions or notices that may apply, at any time. Such amendments shall be published by the Host Committee in the Website, and the User is responsible for reviewing the General Terms of Use that apply each time he / she logs into the page.

The User shall be responsible for the correct use of the Website in accordance with the laws, good faith, public order, use of traffic and these General Terms of Use. The User will be liable to the Host Committee and third parties, for damages that may be caused upon breach of this obligation.


1. Conditions of Access and Use

The website includes a service that aims at providing the User all kinds of information related to the Summit, which includes, among other resources; news, highlights, articles, publications of interest, programming, meetings and other related information.

In no case will the information contained in the Website be considered as thorough, complete or in any way will it satisfy all the needs of the Users. In some cases, the information contained in the Website is simply designed to enable the User to access more data on the subject of interest in the framework of the Summit.

The User expressly agrees to make appropriate use of the content and services offered by the the Host Committee, and to not use them for:

a) Disseminating criminal, violent, pornographic, racist, xenophobic, offensive, discriminatory, and derogatory content, which violates the dignity of the Institution, defends terrorism, or, in general, goes against the law or public order;

b) Inserting Website computer viruses or any updates which may alter, damage, interrupt or generate errors or damage to electronic documents, data or physical and logical systems of the Host Committee institutions or third parties;

c) Trying to access the email accounts of other Users or restricted areas of the computer systems of the the Host Committee institutions or third parties and, when doing so, removing information;

d) Violating the rights of intellectual and industrial property, and violating the confidentiality of the information of the the Host Committee institutions or of others;

e) Impersonating another User or a third party;

f) Reproducing, copying, distributing, making available or otherwise publicly communicating, transforming or modifying content, unless there is proper authorization of the corresponding rights, or it is legally permitted.


2. Liability and Exclusion of Warranties

The content of the Website is general in nature, it provides information on the Summit and is for informational purposes only, without guaranteeing access to all content, nor guaranteeing its validity or timeliness, suitability or fitness for a particular purpose.

The Host Committee will not be liable for any damages that may be caused by using the information provided through the service, unless such information has been provided manifestly with the intention of harming the User.

Given that currently available technical means do not ensure the absolute absence of interference upon the action of third parties over the pages posted on the internet, the Host Committee does not guarantee the accuracy or truthfulness of all or part of the information contained on the website, nor its updates, nor that such information has been altered or modified in whole or in part, after having been included on the website, nor any another aspect or feature of the information provided by the page or through links possibly included therein.

The Host Committee excludes, to the extent permitted by applicable law in the Republic of Colombia (country where the Summit will be held), any liability for damages of any kind arising from:

a) The inability to access the Website or the lack of truthfulness, accuracy and / or timeliness of the content and the existence of faults and defects of any kind of content transmitted, distributed, stored, or made available, that have been accessed through the website or through the services offered traditionally or electronically (online).

b) The presence of viruses or other elements in the contents that may cause alterations in computer systems, electronic documents or User data.

c) Failure to comply with the law, good faith, public order, traffic use, and these General Terms of Use as a result of misuse of the Website.

The User agrees to defend, indemnify and hold the Host Committee, its employees, and / or its subsidiaries ("Indemnitees") harmless against all claims, expenses, liabilities, losses, costs and damages, including lawyer fees, incurred by the Indemnitees.


3. Privacy Policy Applicable to Personal Data

The Host Committee may request information from Users of Website 

upon a procedure or service developed through electronic media. The request for information is always made for the User to provide it voluntarily. Information provided by the User for registration that includes data such as name, identification, age, gender, address, email and phone, are understood as personal information. The data received through the forms on the Website will be incorporated into a database which are responsible for the Host Committee. These institutions will treat the data confidentially and exclusively for the purpose of providing the requested services, with all legal guarantees and security imposed by the Political Constitution, as well as the rules applicable to the protection of personal data and other related standards of a personal nature.

The Host Committee have committed not to transfer, sell, or share data received on the Website, to third parties without your approval. The Host Committee will cancel or rectify the data when it is inaccurate, incomplete or no longer necessary or relevant for their purpose.

The Host Committee has adopted the legally required security levels of protection of personal data, with the installation of necessary technical and organizational measures to prevent loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access and theft of data provided.

6. Actions in Case of Default

The Host Committee reserves the right to exercise all legal and / or administrative actions that are available to claim damages arising from breach by the User, of any provision of these General Terms of Use of the website. 10


7. Duration and Termination

The provision of the Website and other services is, in principle, indefinite; however, the Host Committee is authorized to terminate or suspend the provision of the Website and / or any of the services at any time, notwithstanding any provisions in this regard in the corresponding General Terms of Use. When reasonably possible, the Host Committee shall previously warn around the termination or suspension of the Website service and other services.


8. Law in Force and Jurisdiction

The provision of the Website and these General Terms of Use of the Website and the particular conditions established, are governed by Colombian legislation (country where the Summit will be held).

The pages on the internet, their design and graphic presentation are covered by the provisions of Act 23 of 1982, Articles 12 and 30 and Ruling 351 of the Cartagena Agreement (for the case of Colombia) and the provisions that regulate, modify, add, or supplement them, and other applicable provisions on the subject.
